Summernats Top 60 · RockyNats · MotorEx. Mobile detailing across the Sunshine Coast, out of Kunda Park.
I'm Mitch, and I work on every car myself. My vehicles have competed at national level - when you book me, your car gets the same zero-defect standard I hold myself to in competition. I come to you, wherever you are on the Sunshine Coast.
Summernats Top 60. RockyNats. MotorEx. Show-car judges see every defect under raking light at arm's length. My clients get the same zero-defect standard I hold myself to on the show floor.
No drop-off queues. No transport risk. No strangers driving your car. I bring everything I need to your driveway or workplace, across the entire Sunshine Coast.
There's only one person touching your car. Me. No staff, no hand-offs, no junior with a buffer finishing what I started. That's not a marketing line - that's just how I run it.
Black paint. Full correction. The hardest colour to get right.
Black paintwork is the hardest test in detailing. Under raking light at any angle, every incomplete correction pass shows up as haze. Every buffer trail comes back. Every smear is visible. On a 1968 Mustang, you are working with ageing paint - original or restored, the surface tells the whole story of what has been done to it over fifty-plus years. There are no shortcuts on black.
Paint correction results on real vehicles. The difference lives in the clear coat.
From daily-driver protection to show-car preparation. Three services that work as a system, or standalone.
A ceramic coating bonds semi-permanently with the clear coat - harder than the paint itself, hydrophobic, UV-resistant. Road grime, bird lime, and industrial fallout lift off with a rinse rather than a scrub session. Maintenance washes take a fraction of the time and the results hold for years, not months. I apply ceramic only after full paint correction. There's no value in locking imperfections in under a coating.
Machine-polishing removes the layer of clear coat where swirl marks, buffer trails, marring, and light scratches live. Done properly - with the right compound sequence, the right polish, and the right finishing pass - your paint comes back to what it looked like when it left the factory. Often better. Paint correction is also the necessary foundation step before any ceramic coating application. You do not lock defects in under protection.
Show prep is a different discipline. A multi-stage process covering every panel, every gap, every piece of trim. Engine bay, wheel arches, door shuts included. Show judges get close - really close - and they are looking for anything you missed. The standard for show prep is not "looks good in photos." It is "holds up under raking light at arm's length from someone who does this for a living." I have competed at Summernats, RockyNats, and MotorEx. I know what that scrutiny looks like and I know what it takes to pass it.
National show-car events. The credentials that no other mobile detailer on the Sunshine Coast can replicate.
Show-car judging at national level is not a participation exercise. To place or present well at these events, the paintwork has to hold up under professional scrutiny at close range. The detailer who prepares the car is as much on the line as the builder. I have competed at all three of Australia's most recognised show-car events and I bring that same standard to every vehicle I work on.
Australia's largest custom car show, held in Canberra. A Top 60 show-judged result requires paintwork that is defect-free under the scrutiny of experienced judges. It is not a participation trophy - vehicles are assessed and placed. This is the strongest single credential Sunny Coast Auto Detailing holds and the hardest for any local competitor to match.
CQ Nationals, Rockhampton - a serious event for the modified and custom car community. Entered and presented at national event level, where preparation standard is scrutinised by experienced judges and a knowledgeable crowd.
One of Australia's premier indoor show-car exhibitions. MotorEx entry represents work at the high end of the Australian show-car scene, where build quality and finish are the primary evaluation criteria.
Skid Factory is one of Australia's biggest automotive YouTube channels. My work has been featured on it. That is not something I put on the website to sound good - it is documented. The standards they hold to on camera are the same standards I hold on every client's car.
I started Sunny Coast Auto Detailing because I wanted to do the kind of work that holds up under a show-car judge's magnifying glass. Not just for competition builds - for anyone on the Sunshine Coast with a vehicle they actually care about.
My vehicles have competed at Summernats, RockyNats, and MotorEx. When you present at one of those events, the judging is serious. Under raking light at every angle, by people who do this for a living and know exactly what they're looking at. That pressure either makes your process tighter or it exposes what you've been cutting corners on. It made mine tighter.
I run this completely solo. When you book Sunny Coast Auto Detailing, you get me. I do every decontamination pass, every correction stage, every coating application myself. For the kind of vehicles my clients bring me, that accountability isn't optional.
